documentary week...

So I had been wanting to see "exit through the gift shop"...the first movie where banksy appears--hooded and voiced over, but still on film. He actually produced it, and it turns out that the movie is really Banksy denouncing this wannabe artist who puts on this huge art show in LA--really makes me want to be in the art circle out there. Anyway, graffiti artists are incredible. Shepard Fairey, famous for doing the Obama graphics, is a huge part of this movie.

And it turns out he is also part of this other movie about an group of artists in the early 90s. Still watching this one, but I'll let you know how it is.

Also, watched this--having no idea how gruesome it would be. Its directed by Gael Garcia Bernal (the guy from the motorcycle diaries). Nothing uplifting about this one--the Sundance reviews made it seem way more inspiring.
